My favorite website, Dodger Thoughts, is moving to ESPNLA.com. This news has severely depressed me. ESPN trolls fucking suck.
Man, JD Salinger died. What a bummer. 91 though - thats a dang long life. I would say he’ll be missed, but hes been so reclusive for, well, forever. When I announced that he had passed to my coworkers, one of them responded, “He was still around?” I wonder what he has been keeping himself busy with all of these years. I hope he was happy. He sure made a lot of people happy (and...

A third theatrical sequel to the Bill and Ted franchise was planned, and a...
– While looking up bill and teds bogus journey on wikipedia, I ran into this gem.
I had a ticket to Spoon’s show on Thursday at the Mercury Lounge (10th of the size venue they usually play). Decided to release the ticket because I didn’t feel like paying $25 to go to the show alone. By the time I figured out that that was a stupid excuse, it was sold out.
Oh well.
Dan really loves legos.
Funny story: I heard an unconfirmed rumor earlier today that Ricky Gervais was...

AV Club: In another interview, you talked about watching films you’re in—that it’s like watching a home movie, because you remember the nitty-gritty. But you said that when The Big Lebowski comes on, you just have to watch it, the whole thing. What is it about that film that captures your attention?
Jeff Bridges: It’s kind of a masterpiece, man. It’s like The Godfather—I see it on the tube and I think I’m just going to watch a couple of scenes, but I end up watching the whole thing.

Apparently These Arms are Snakes have broken up? Major bummer. It’s been a couple of years since Ive seen them, but their live show was always top notch. My first time seeing them was part of my favorite concert - Against Me!, These Arms are Snakes, and Roy at a house show in Tacoma. TAAS played on the main floor of the house, and it was so fucking insane that the organizer of the show...
Mark McGwire, a favorite of mine during my younger years, has finally confirmed what everyone has thought for years: that he took steroids during his baseball playing years.
I still don’t have a clear cut stance on the steroid issue. My opinion tends to be rooted in emotional bursts of sadness followed by reasoning. Baseball was a fucked up institution during the 80’s and...
According to Last.fm, I have listened to Nana Grizol songs two hundred five times in the past five days. I am pretty proud of myself.
Best weekend of 2010:
Friday March 26. Miles Kurosky (of Beulah) at Mercury Lounge
Saturday March 27. Shearwater / Wye Oak at Bowery Ballroom
And earlier in the week I’ll be seeing Dave Bazan, Headlights, and maybe Fruit Bats and Nada Surf.
Two spins through the new Shearwater album. Verdict: Stunning. Hooray!
Spent the weekend listening to the new Basia Bulat and Spoon albums when I needed a break from keeping Nana Grizol on repeat. Both are quite good.
I want to Nana Grizol to play my couch.
